Pileus 0.5-1.5 cm. diam., apricot, hemispherical to flattened, matt; flesh apricot. Gills slightly decurrent, yellow to apricot, moderately thick, moderately distant, rather shallow, occasionally forking with venose folds, between. Stipe 2-4 cm. X 2-3 mm., pale apricot, smooth to silky fibrillose, solid, rather brittle. Spores 5 X 5-6 µm. hyaline
habitat: terrestrial under scrub and on clay banks, Wellington Botanic Garden, 26.3.1949) & 1.7.1949, Stevenson, Rotoiti, 16,5.19561 E. Kidson, Keith George Park, 30.5.1958, Stevenson; Otari, 7.6.1958, Stevenson; Levin, 22.6. 1958, Stevenson.
This small apricot-coloured species with small globose spores seems fairly common in New Zealand, though it is little known in America beyond its original description from Florida. It has also been found in Japan (Imazeki & Hongo, 1957).
Pileus 0.5-1 cm. diam., light brown, darker at centre and with dark radial striations, convex, umbilicate, tending to be crimped or waved at edge, matt to subfibrillose; flesh brown. Gills decurrent, forking in larger specimens, distant. Stipe 1-1.5 cm. X l-2 mm., fawn to light brown, velvety to subfibrillose, fringed with white hyphae at base, solid, rather tough. Spores 7 X 5 µm., hyaline. Basidia 30-35 X 5 µm. four-spored.
habitat: attached to moss or rooting on banks in the bush, Wellington Botanic Garden, 2.6.19491 Levin, 18.6.1949, both Stevenson.
Gleland remarks, 'This species is probably better placed under Omphalia', but, as it has Hygrophoroid basidia and gill trama it is here placed in Hygrophorus subgenera. Hygrocybe. The exact colour of the spore print needs to be determined.
Pileus 0.5-1.5 cm- diam., lemon chrome, striate at edge, very slimy, hemispherical to umbilicate; flesh pale yellow. Gills decurrent, yellow, moderately distant, thick. Stipe 2-4 cm, X 2-4 mm., bright yellow, very slimy, solid or slightly hollow at base. Spores 9-11 X 5-6 µm, oblong, hyaline, Basidia 30-35 X 5-6 µm, four-spored.
habitat: On mossy banks, Wellington, 12.6.1949, Stevenson; Rotoiti, 16.5.1956, E. Kidson, Otari, 7.6.1958, Stevenson.
Pileus 0.5-1.5 cm. diam., chromolimoneus, ad marginem striatus, eximie, viscidus, ex hemisphaerico umbilicatus; came luteola. Lamellae decurrentes luteae, modice distantes, crassae. Stipes 2-4 cm. In general appearance this species resembles H. vitellinus Fr. sensu Bresadola, but the spores are quite different. It is close to H. citrina var. glutinipes Lange, but has larger spores and lacks orange colour.
