Spreading low shrub, more or less divaricating, 0,05-0.3 m tall. Branches prostrate to decumbent; branchlets brown to grey; vegetative internodes 1—5(—10) mm long; stem pubescence eglandular. Leaves erecto-patent to spreading; lamina oblanceolate to obovate or spathulate, 4-9(- 15) × 2-5(-7) mm; apex obtuse to rounded; margin smooth, entire to crenate with 0-2(-3) pairs of crenations; adaxiai surface of leaves green to bronze green, dull; midrib weakly thickened beneath, weakly depressed to grooved above. Petiole 1-2(- 3) mm long. Inflorescence with 10-60 flowers. Rachis densely eglandular-pubescent and sparsely glandular-pubescent; bracts subopposite to alternate, ciliate with both glandular and eglandular hairs. Pedicels absent or much shorter than bracts, eglandular-pubescent. Calyx lobes 5, eglandularciliate. Corolla mauve at anthesis, pale mauve after pollination. Stamen filaments inserted about middle of corolla tube, 3.0-3.5 mm long. Nectarial disk glabrous to glandular-ciliate. Ovary glabrous or sparsely eglandular hairy at apex. Style (4-)6-7 mm long, glabrous or with a few unicellular hairs at base, mauve with pinkish apex. Stigma capitate, 0.35- 0.45 mm wide. Capsule angustiseptate to turgid, emarginate to didymous. Seeds 1.2-1.6 × 0.6- 0.7 mm. Chromosome number 2n = 42 (Hair 1967). FL Oct-Nov, FT Dec-Jan.
