Entoloma tristificum E. Horak 1973

Holotype (PDD 27042); Isotype (Herb. HK. ZT 68/380): 'St. Arnaud Range, Lake Rotoiti, Prov. Nelson, N.Z.; leg. Horak, 5.V.1968.
Pileus 20-45 mm diam., campanulate or broadly umbonate, dark brown to date brown, fading to grey-beige, finely wrinkled at the centre, more or less fibrillose towards the substriate margin, dry. Lamellae free, beige at first turning brownish-pink, gill edge white, scalloped, densely crowded. Stipe 30-45 x 2-7 mm, subclavate, attenuated upwards, robust, concolorous with pileus or lighter, densely covered by white fibrils, fistulose, dry. Context brownish, watery. Odor and taste not distinctive.
Spores 9-10.5 x 6.5-8.5 µm, 5-angled. Basidia 32-38 x 12 µm, 4-spored. Cystidia lacking. Cuticle a palisade or trichoderm of erect to suberect; short cylindrical hyphae (12-20 µm diam.), membrane thin-walled not gelatinized, with brown, plasmatic pigment. Clamp connections absent.
On soil in forests (under Nothofagus spp.). New Zealand.
Pileo 20-45 mm lato, campanulato vel late umbonato, obscure brunneo, centro subrugoso marginem versus fibrilloso et substriato, sicco. Lamellis liberis, brunneolis demum roseis, acie albida integraque instructis. 8tipite 30 45 x 2-7 mm, clavato, curvato, pileo concolori vel pallidiori, fibrillis albis dense obtecto, sicco, fistuloso. Odore saporeque nullo. Sporis 9-10.5 x 6.5-8.5 µm, 5-angulatis. Basidiis 4-sporigeris. Cystidiis nullis. Epicute ex hyphis erectis vel suberectis palisadam aut trichodermium formantibus, pigmento brunneo instructis. Septis defibulatis. Ad terram in silvis. Novezelandia.
