Epilobium vernicosum Cheeseman
Stock stout, woody; branches us. many, decumbent at base, then ascending, erect at tips, reddish or green, up to ± 20 cm. tall; branchlets bifariously pubescent. Lvs opp., us. reddish, alt. in floral region, on petioles up to 2 mm. long. Lamina (6)-10-15-(20) × (3)-5-8-(10) mm.; narrow-oblong to ovate-oblong, coriac., very glossy, us. ± flushed red; margins obscurely to distinctly denticulate. Fls 12-20 mm. diam.; calyx up to 9 mm. long, lobes linear-lanceolate; petals broad, rather deeply bilobed, pale rose, ± 12 × 5 mm. Capsules glab., 15-25 mm. long; peduncles < lvs. Seeds smooth.
