![ITS gene tree using sequences from Midgley et al. 2018, from cultures grown from kauri roots in New Zealand, and from other sources from Leotiomycete apothecia.The attached pdf has a tree with some of the Midgley et al. sequences (the red ones they regard as Gamarada, blue as ecologically similar but outside of Gamarada), and relevant sequences from kauri root cultures (the ES.. and Lauren.. numbers). A case could be made for calling one (or is it two) of the kauri root fungi Gamarada sp. Most of the other sequences in the tree are from disco apothecia on litter – the D.. ones are from PRJ colection cultures. Many of these sequences are unpublished. © Landcare Research.
