Etymology
The epithet pokohinuensis refers to the type locality (Mokohinau Islands Nature Reserve, Burgess (Pokohinu) Island);
editorial
On choice of epithet: Pokohinu is the Ngati Rehua name for the island whereas the name Mokohinau for the archipelago is not recognised by the Ngati Rehua who excercise mana whneua over that island group.
