Perithecia numerous, prominent, scattered, emergent, flat, scarcely raised above surface, discrete to 4-6-confluent, ± flattened-applanate, subconical centrally, rarely or never subglobose, round to irregular, 0.5-2.5 mm diam., black, matt.
