Galloway (2007) regarded Lecidea glacuomaria (Nyl.) as the basionym of Arthonia glaucomaria(Nyl.) Nyl., which he accpeted for New Zealand. However, both Mycobank and Index Fungorum (viewed Feb. 2024) regard these as separate taxa. The current name for Lecidea glaucomaria Nyl. Bot. Notiser (11-12): 177 (1852) is Phacographa glaucomaria (Nyl.) Hafellner 2009. Arthonia glaucomaria Nyl. is currently regarded as a heterotypic synonym of Arthonia varians (Davies) Nyl.
