Pholiota pumila sensu Massee 1899 [1898]

Pileus rather fleshy, hemispherical, obtuse, even, hygrophanous, glabrous, ochraceous or rarely brownish-cinnamon, 1-1.5 cm. broad; flesh dingy; gills adnate, crowded, about 3 mm. broad, pallid-yellowish; spores 8-10 x 5-6 µ; stem 2.5-5 cm. long, about 2 mm. thick, yellow, somewhat fibrillose, hollow; ring superior, floccose, not interwoven into a membrane, only-forming a zone round the stem.
New Zealand. Victoria, New South Wales, Europe.
On the ground, among grass and moss.
