Fig. 22 Spores allantoid, hyaline, neither amyloid nor dextrinoid, smooth, 5-6 X 1.5-2 µ. Cheilo- and pleurocystidia fusoid, thin-walled, without crystals, coloured with a yellow plasmatic pigment, 40-90 X 8-11 µ. Cuticle consisting of suberect fusoid or cylindrical cells forming a loose trichoderm, membrane of the hyphae not gelainised, with clamp connections.

Pileus 4-9 cm diam., ochraceous fawn covered with purple blotches, intensely velvety fibrillose, concave, with down-rolled margin; flesh white to pale cream, tough. Gills decurrent, creamy with purple tinge, moderately distant, moderately deep. Stipe 2-4 x 0.5-1-5 cm, fawn with purple tint, velvety fibrillose, very tough, centric to excentric. Spores 5-6 x 2-2-5 µm, non-amyloid, thin-walled; print white. Metuloids 70 x 15 µm, very numerous (Fig. 2/9, p.37). Hymenophoral trama irregular with many very thick-walled hyphae. Cuticle of loosely woven hyphae up to 10 µm diam., with clamp connections; superficial hyphae purple.

Pileus 4-9 cm diam., ochraceo-hinnuleus, maculis purpureis obtectus, intense velutino-fibrillosus, concavus, margine deorsum involute; caro alba usque pallide cremea, tenax. Lamellae decurrentes, cremeae, purpureo-tinctae, modice distantes, modice altae. Stipes 2-4 x 0.5-1.5 cm, hinnuleus, purpureo-tinctus, velutino-fibrillosus, tenacissimus, centricus usque ex-centricus. Sporae 5-6 x 2-2-5 µm, haud amyloideae, parietibus tenuibus; in cumulo albae. Metuloidea 70 x 15 µm, numerosissima. Trama hymenophoralis irregularis, hyphis multis cum parietibus crassissimis. Cuticula ex hyphis laxe intertextis usque l0 µm diam., cum fibulis, sistens, hyphis superficial bus purpureis.
