Orbilia xanthostigma sensu Baral (= Orbilia delicatula sensu Spooner) ex NZ represents at least four seperate, morphologically cryptic species - represented by PDD 58571/ICMP 22654 (GenBank MG593173); PDD 94111/ICMP 22650 (MG593179); PDD 93939/ICMP 22657 (MG593188); PDD 64847/ICMP 22658 (MG593176) - along with a fifth species that is phylogenetically a sister to PDD 94111, but differs morphologically in having smooth rather than rough walled ascospores - PDD 59160/ICMP 22659 (MG593178).
