Galloway (2007) treated Lecidea senescens as an endemic species although he stated it is not properly accommodated in Lecidea s.s. de Lange et al. (2012) listed this taxon in their Appendix 4, Nomenclatural changes affecting taxa treated by Galloway (2007) and gave the current name for this entity as Tylothallia pahienisis. T. pahiensis was later synonymised with the new name Tylothllia verrucosa after discovery of an earlier applicable eptihet (Kantvilas 2014). However, it doesn't appear that the Lecidea senescens Zahblr. was formally synonymised wtih either Tylothallia pahiensis or T. verrucosa.
