Ekanayaka et al. (2019) provide a formal family name for the Amicodisca/Dematioscypha clade of Fehrer et al. (2019, https://doi.org/10.1016/j.simyco.2018.10.004). However, both Ekanayaka et al. (2019) and Fehrer et al. (2019) represent Amicodisca by 'Amicodisca' castaneae, phylogenetically distinct from the type species of Amicodisca A. virella (= A. brdensis). Based on the A. virella specimen SBRH828 (GenBank MH221521, MH485388), Amicodisca belongs in Hyaloscyphaceae. Baral (2020) recombined A. castanae as Dematioscypha castaneae [PRJ, 2019, 2020]
