"We present molecular data demonstrating that the New Zealand endemic Plagiochila caducifolia represents an isolated population of Plagiochila (sect. Arrectae) spinulosa, a species previously thought confined to the eastern Holarctic but which also occurs in Lesotho, southern Africa."
