The earliest documented NZ culture may be NZRM 3915 isolated from milk in 2005, later ICMP cultures come from a milk factory, this organism is likely exotic and associated with high temperatures. it is distributed widely in New Zealand as a commercial biological indicator. On 21 September 2007 is was declared to not be a new organism by the EPA (application S2607005) [BSW, May 2019]
