This was recorded as "Lecania cf. nylanderiana A. Massal. The specimens treated here belong to the Lecania suavis-group with 4(–more)-celled ascospores. However, the specimens are not well developed, and the excipulum sometimes contains prosoplectenchymatous cells that are strongly conglutinate but not always clearly present. The ascospores and the pruinose apothecia accord more or-less with L. nylanderiana as described by Mayrhofer (1988). However, this species has rarely been collected in Australasia, and further material is needed to confirm its presence in the region. SPECIMENS EXAMINED: New Zealand.
