Notes
editorial
Caladenia chlorostyla has often been confused with Caladenia minor, though there are distinct differences between the two species. Caladenia chlorostyla is characterised by a spreading (patent) middle foliaceous bract on the flowering scape, mostly pink flowers, and clavate (club-shaped) lamina calli. In contrast, Caladenia minor typically features a stem-clasping middle bract, greenish flowers, and capitate-globular (head-shaped) lamina calli. Caladenia minor is primarily found in the northern third of the North Island. Despite this, it remains a poorly understood species, and its relationships to Caladenia chlorostyla and Caladenia bartlettii require further critical evaluation.
