brumalis
Diplodiumis “neutrum” and requires a neutrum epithet. Lucy Moore’s basionym was correctly Pterostylis brumalis (f). The standard nominative singular adjective is brumalis (m & f), brumale (n), therefore Diplodium brumale (n). The adjectival epithet brumalis/brumale (meaning “wintry”) should remain in the nominative case, and will be brumalis when combined with a masculine or feminine genus, but brumale when combined with a neuter genus. Thus: Diplodium brumale is correct.
