Notes
editorial
New Zealand hepaticologists, when discussing New Zealand liverworts for the 2020 Threatened list, decided to accept M.A.M. Renner’s concepts regarding Plagiochila arbuscula var. rekohuensis over its treatment in by Engel & Merrill A Flora of the Liverworts and Hornworts of New Zealand Vol. 3 (2019).
Etymology
The epithet rekohuensis refers to the type locality of this variety; Rekohu, meaning 'misty skies' is the local Maori (Moriori) for Chatham Islands.
