Etymology
Glabrescent means becoming hairless or glabrous at maturity. However, this seems not to be an attribute of this species.
editorial
Possibly not a distinct species but a lush form if C. durietzii which is present on Stewart Island, and seed had washed down the river to a lowland site (pers. comm D. Glenny 2024)
