Needs presentation of evidence before acceptance. "This monotypic genus was published by Clements & Jones (2002) to accommodate the species previously known as Bulbophyllum pygmaeum. They presented a diagnosis with the comment that several genera were being segregated "resulting from detailed morphological and molecular studies that will be published elsewhere." I have not found phylogenies that include B. pygmaeum and I note Chase et al.(http://www.orchids.co.in/orchid-plant/orchid-i.shtm) and Felix & Guerra (2010) do not accept Ichthyostomum."
