Parahebe catarractae (G.Forst.) W.R.B.Oliv. subsp. catarractae

Stems brown, usually erect, bifariously hairy, to 50 cm tall. Leaves lanceolate or rarely linearlanceolate, widest about middle, quite deeply toothed, acute at apex, whitish beneath (drying pale brown), (2)-3-7-(12) × (0.5)-1-2-(3) cm. Inflorescences many-flowered, 10—15—(20) cm long; peduncle stout, 5—7—(10) cm, peduncle and rachis with 1-3 rows and pedicels with one discrete row of eglandular (and sometimes also glandular) hairs. Bracts and calyx ciliolate, sometimes glandular or glabrous. Corolla with purple ring at throat, anterior lobe >2 mm wide. Capsule dark brown, (2.5)-3-(4) × 3-(4) mm.
