Ecology and distrbution. This fungus is so far known only of an isoate from dead stems of medicago polymorpha in New Zealand. It may be a common saprophyte in Australasia. The aurea epithet refers to the golden-coloured colonies on MA.

taxonomic status
NZ holotype isolated from Medicago polymorpha. Subsequently isolated from indegenous hosts. Sequeneces indicate probable presence in China and Japan. Biostatus uncertain.
