K(M) 235260. Stevenson 1262. The material has dried yellow. The spores exhibit great variation. The immature spores on the gill (attached to sterigma) and the stipe are long, mature spores on the gill are shortened but retraction nearly impossible to see, whilst the spores on the cap exhibit the usual form for Rhodocollybia with a dextrinoid retracted endospore and outer wall sometimes collapsing. The result is a great variation in possible spore measurements, as seen in the recent NZ collections. However, without doubt a Rhodocollybia.
Pileus 1-3.5 µm diam., pale incarnate, plane, striate at edge, darker at centre, hygrophanous, drying cottony or silky fibrillose; flesh thin, concolorous. Gills adnate, whitish, moderately crowded. Stipe 3-6 cm x 2-4 mm, incarnate, grooved and twisted, hollow, tough, tapering slightly upwards. Spores 8-9x4 µm, non-amyloid, thin-walled, hyaline (Fig.16). Cuticle of woven hyphae.
In litter, Kaingaroa, 12.3.1958, Stevenson (type).
Pileus 1-3.5 µm diam., pallide incarnatus, planus, margine striato, medio intensius coloratus, hygrophanus, siccitate gossypinus vel sericeo-fibrillosus; carne tenui concolori. Lamellae adnatae, albidae, modice confertae. Stipes 3-6 cm x 2-4 mm, incarnatus, sulcatus et tortus, cavus, tenax, sursum leviter attenuatus. Sporae 8-9 x 4 µm haud amyloideae, parietibus tenuibus, hyalinae. Cuticula ex hyphis intertextis sistens.
Typus: Stevenson 1262.
