Olearia ×suavis Cheeseman
Shrub. Leaves alternate, lamina 19– 44 × 6–17 mm, elliptic to broadly elliptic, usually with fulvous T-hairs; abaxial surface densely hairy; adaxial surface dull green, sparsely hairy to glabrate; midrib and main lateral veins prominent on both surfaces, 8–18 lateral veins; base attenuate to cuneate; margin with 4–22 teeth; apex subacute; petiole 2.5–10.5 mm long, sparsely to moderately hairy, or glabrate. Capitula 5–21 per corymb; inflorescence moderately to densely covered with appressed fulvous T-hairs, pedicels 2.2–13.0 mm long. Involucral bracts 16–18, 3–4-seriate, abaxial surface of outer bracts with hairs on midrib, abaxial surface of inner bracts glabrous, adaxial surfaces glabrous; apices acute to subobtuse, usually with a distinct tuft of hairs; margins fimbriate or hyaline-fimbriate in distal part; bases cuneate to attenuate; outer bracts up to 4.0 × 1.1 mm, broadly elliptic to shortly lanceolate; inner bracts up to 5.0 × 0.9 mm, lanceolate. Florets 6–10 per capitulum. Female florets 3–5, limb white, 3.0–5.7 × 0.7–1.0 mm, glabrous; tube 1.0–2.8 mm, sparsely hairy. Hermaphrodite florets 3–5, actinomorphic; corolla usually with glandular and eglandular hairs near apex; lobes 1.0–1.3 × 0.4– 0.5 mm, narrowly triangular, deflexed at maturity, white; tube 3.6–3.8 mm long, sparsely hairy. Anthers 1.8–2.0 mm long, apex apiculate, tails c. 0.2 mm long; filaments 1.1–1.2 mm long, glabrous. Style of hermaphrodite and female florets 3.3–3.6 mm long; style arms 0.9–1.3 mm long. Ovary c. 2.5 × 0.5 mm, moderately covered with eglandular hairs; pappus bristles scabrid, 3.6–4.9 mm long. Cypsela narrowly oblong, somewhat compressed and angular in section, 1.9–2.1 mm long; base obtuse; ribs 5, narrow raised; moderately covered in white antrorse hairs, eglandular, henna to red-brown. Pappus bristles scabrid, 2.2–3.3 mm long, pale orange-yellow. FL Dec–Feb.
