taxonomic status
validation of Bloxamiaceae Locq., Mycol. gen. struct. (Paris): 209. 1984. nom. inval. (Art. 39.1). Jaklitsch et al. (2016a) treated Bloxamiaceae as a presumed synonym of Pezizellaceae. However, in our [Hernandez-Restrepo et alk. 2017] phylogenetic analysis, Pezizellaceae (Fig. 3, Clade VII), which contains members of Chalara, is distantly related to the Bloxamia lineage.
