The N.Z. material (COLENSO 395) is poorly preserved in every respect and it was impossible to find spores. The type collection was described from Tasmania (growing on Eucalyptus amygdalina) and represents a species of Pleurotus (Pegler 1965:323).

Densely gregarious; minute, cup-shaped, reflexed and attached by the side, coarsely striate, membranaceous, whitish, 3 mm. broad; gills adnate; thick, ascending, arcuate, rather distant; spores elliptical, 5 X 3 µ; stem very short, smooth, recurved.
New Zealand. Tasmania.
On bark of standing trees, &c.
Densely gregarious; covering the bark in broad patches. Readily distinguished by its habit, form, and small size.
