This collection (COLENSO 798) is represented by several carpophores which have been badly eaten by insects. Spores none, systematic position uncertain.

Panus tahitensis sensu Colenso 1891 [1890]

Massee (1898) records this species from Dannevirke, but the identification seems doubtful.

taxonomic status
N.Z. material (Colenso 798) is badly eaten by insects, lacks spores, and is of uncertain systematic position, fide Horak 1971b. The description of the Tahitian type material indicates that it is probably a Hohenbuehelia sp., fide Pegler 1983a, pp. 258-259.
