Ectomycorrhizal Cortinarius-like mushrooms on soil under Nothofagus and tea-tree. Distinguished from Cortinarius by the bright, yellow or red, water-soluable pigments.

A separate genus or not re phylogeny? Garnica et al (CJB 83, 2005, p1457) suggest not. Liu et al (CJB, 75, p519) suggest yes. Type is D. cinnamomeus, not D. raphanoides (IF and ING), see Brandrud et al, Cortinarius v3, 1994, p21.
