Etymology. ilicifolium, refers to host substrate.
NOTES. Divaricating medullary cells similar to those present in C. ilicifolium are also found in C. macrostipitatum and C. epitephrum.
Etymology. macrostipitatum, refers to long stipe of apothecium.
NOTES. The shape of the receptacle, with its collarette-like margin, is similar to that seen in Crocicreas epitephrum. Crocicreas macrostipitatum differs in having a long stipe, apothecia erumpent from the leaf surface, and 1-septate ascospores.
