sand in estuary of river, VWL 1998, 12/1940 (VM).

typification
Algaebase.org (accessed 10 July 2023) does not cite any typification details, so Gracilaria secundata f. compacta V.May. may need lectotypfying with one of the V. Lindauer (1757 or 1998) specimens cited in the protologue.
It was not lectotypified by Nelson, W.A. (1987) [New Zealand J. Bot. 25: 87-98].
