POWO lists this taxon as Leucospermum conocarpoides (L.) H.Buek with the basionym Leucadendron concarpoidesL. (1753). The relationship between Leucadendron L. (1753) nom. rejic, and Leucadendron R.Br. *1810) nom. cons. is not clear to the data entry technician in May 2022. However, the index entry on p. 203 of Buek's Genera, Species et Synonyma Candolleana 4 clearly refers to a prior R. & Schult. [Roemer & Schultes] publication XIV p. 255
