Segregates of Racomitium crispulum in Bucklandiella, have recently been recognised. However, the PND follows Larrain et al. (2013) and Allan Fife’s opinions and take’s a broad view of Racomitrium. Furthermore, some segregate species recently recognised and/or described, are also regarded as part of the range of variation of variable New Zealand taxa.
