AK360488 Cultivation Escape. Seedlings collected from a brick wall in the vicinity of a street verge planting of this species in Auckland and on clay under disturbed exotic trees in Golden Bay. Leptospermum morrisonii is now widely grown throughout the warmer parts of New Zealand. As plants readily flower and set viable seed, further naturalisations are considered likely.

L. morrisonii 'Copper Sheen' is the most common Australian Leptospermum cultivated in New Zealand. It was registered in New Zealand as L. nitidum ‘Copper Sheen', but it is not derived from L. nitidum.
L. morrisonii 'Burgundy' is an Australian cultivar that is not in New Zealand, but the cultivar name has been misapplied to L. morrisonii 'Copper Sheen'.
