NZ isolate. NZRM 3913. In 2010, B. pumilus (Meyer and Gottheil 1901) was isolated from pasture rhizosphere sampled from Whatawhata, Waikato. Samples of pea root rhizosphere also provided isolates. Cultures are currently held in private New Zealand collections, in some collections it is incorrectly spelt/recorded as B. pumilis [sic].

Bacillus pumilus Meyer & Gottheil 1901
Claimed to cause a leaf-spot of stone-fruit in synergy with X. pruni and cause secondary capsule rot of cotton and cause tuber rot of potato (Bradbury, 1986), B. pumilis is almost certainly a secondary saprobe. Reported by Saleh et at. (1997) but no pathogenic reference strain is recorded.
