The type strain of Pseudomonas cissicola (Takimoto 1939) Burkholder 1948 has the determinative characteristics and the fatty acid profile of the genus Xanthomonas Dowson 1939 (Approved Lists 1980). However, it is not appropriate to propose the new combination Xanthomonas cissicola without investigating more extensively the genomic and phenotypic characteristics.
