The name Bryopsis pseudopennata V.J.Chapm. was not recognised for New Zealand in Nelson et al (2019) Conservation status of New Zealand macroalgae, and a current name has not been found. Name entered on database as type specimen was given in the protologue from P.R.B. Herbarium (now the Allan Herbarium).
