TYPICIFICATION: When Agardh described Callophyllis calliblepharoides (1876: 231–2) he stated ‘Hab. ad Novam Zelandiam et Ins. Chatam, inaliis Algis saepius parasitica’ but did not refer to a specific collection or specimen. In the herbarium in Lund there are specimens labelled as C. calliblepharoides that would have been available to Agardh at the time he described this species, including material collected by Berggren from several locations in the South Island and collections made byTravers from the Chatham Islands. We have selected a specimen from Warrington, Otago, South Island, collected by Berggren, to be theLectotype of C. calliblepharoides. Specimens from the same Berggren Warrington collection are also housed in Lund and in Paris. LECTOTYPE: WELT A001261, Berggren (Fig. 14).
