Cenchrus macrourus (Trin.) Morrone is based on Pennisetum macrourum Trin. in Gram. Panic.: 64 (1826), Pennisetum macrourum is preceded by Gymnotrix caudata Schrad. in Gött. Gel. Anz. 3: 2073 (1821), so Cenchrus caudatus (Schrad.) Kuntze in Revis. Gen. Pl. 3(2): 346 (1898) should be the preferred name.
