Engel & Glenny (2019) in vol. 3 of the Liverwort and Hornwort Flora of New Zealand, do not accept Cryptoplagiochila radiculosa, the type species of the genus Cryptoplagiochila, that was based on Plagiochila sect. Radiculosae.
