The specific epithet is spelled with one "r" in the protologue, in which it says the plants was exhibited by Mr. Fairie of Liverpool, and enthusiasitc collector of orchids. However, the name has been corrected to two "r"s, as the correct spelling of the orchid enthusiast was Mr. Fairrie.
