editorial
the majority of the NZ plants in this genus are this hybrid. H. × massartiana is been sold in garden centers and nurseries.
editorial
H. non-scripta has all the flowers hanging to one side of the inflorescence, with a stem that should curve to one side; and the petals should be more curved. Between H. hispanica and H. × massartiana there are not a lot of well defined differences, because of their variability. H.× massartiana normally has longer and wider leaves, thicker stems and more flowers in each inflorescence (because of the heterosis), and the petals are more curved and tubular than in H. hispanica.
