At a number of dryland sites on the Canterbury Plains (including Kaitorete Spit), where it can often be locally abundant. As of today, there are 66 observations of Romulea minutiflora in New Zealand on iNaturalist, mostly from around Christchurch, but there are also records from Blenheim, Nelson, Napier, and the Kapiti Coast.
