von Konrat et al (2012) transferred Jubulopis novae-zelandiae to Lepidolaena where it was shown to be nested. Despite its acceptance as Jubulopsis novae-zelandiae in A Flora of New Zealand Hornworts and Liverworts Vol. 2 (2019), it is recognised within Lepidolaena.
