A New Zealand isolate (MIRINZ AH1; NZRM 3833) was oringially identified as Aeromonas hydrophila on the basis of phenotypic identification methods, subsequently this was revised by sequencing to be Aeromonas veronii. MIRINZ AH64 is also a NZ isolate of this species.
