Bryum waikariense
The epithet waikariense probably refers to the locality where the type specimen was collected. The protologue simply says "damp banks", but the type specimen in CHR has, in Brown's handwriting, "damp banks near Waikarii" and this is likely to be Waikari, North Canterbury.
Lectotype: N.Z., South Island, near Waikari, April 1882, R. Brown, CHR 335157!
