Plants of the World Online (Apr. 2021) gives the authority as Vanucchi, citing his 1838 publication Tableau topographique et médical de l'ile de Corse as the protologue, but without a page number. This appears to be a nom nud. on both p. 38 and p. 50, so is invalidly published. However, May (1878), says "Vanucci in 1838 (quoted by Herbert) described the larger species (Herbert's major) as C. corsicus..."
