The only record of T. cremeum from New Zealand is based on specimen GJS 02–52 (Chaverri and Samuels 2003). These authors used a different part of the tef1a gene to us, but a comparison of the sequences they provide for both GJS 02–52 and CBS 111146 (the type specimen of T. cremeum, Bissett et al. 2015), suggests that they represent two distinct species and that GJS 02–52 may in fact be T. cremeoides, the same as our four more recently collected isolates that match ICMP 20979.
