Note: no basionym was cited properly in the publication of this combination. Possibly the valid name should be: Lachenalia aloides (Cirillo) Asch. & Graebn., Syn. Mitteleur. Fl. [Ascherson & Graebner] 3: 279 (1905). This reference was not found online to check.

It appears that all naturalised specimen of Lachenalia aloides in New Zealand are the cultivar Lachenalia aloides 'Pearsonii'. See iNat observation # 235831540 and specimens at CHR.
