Botrytis sp.

Botrytis sp., leaf spotting of Hosta. Identified by Dr M. B. Ellis (CMI) as B. tulipae; the conidia are 16-25 X 10-12 [Lm like those of B. tulipae; however, the cultural appearance and sclerotia are quite different from tulip isolates of B. tulipae seen at Levin being much more 'wooly' and with relatively few larger sclerotia.
